Lake Shore Women's Club update
The Lake Shoru Women's Club
was
founded
124
years
ago
known then
as
The LakD Shore Union Society. Their
purpose was
to
provide social contacts,
do charity work
and
encourago mental
and moral improvement
to
its membors.
They provided Bibles, hymnals,
and
oven organs to local churches. They also
provided lesson leaves, lamps,
and lun-
ches
for
nesdy children
for
thu schools...
Through
the
years they sponsored
Brownie Troops, provided food baskets
Tor tliu needy, and lunches and milk
for
undernourished children.
In September
1957
whon this
dedicated group became
"The
Lake
Shoro Women's Club,
it
retained
the
same x°als.
In
1069
the
club helped
organize
the
League
of
Women Voters.
Visit

hours
are
dark until

p.m. Sunday thru Thurs-
day. Friday and Saturday tickets will
be
sold until 12 a.m. (midnight). Wo will

We advise parents with young

to
visil early in the week rather
than Friday
or
Saturday nights
to
avoid
a

wait. Babysitting
is

no charge.
The
forest
has
security
on
hand.

Municipal Building

donate
to
Holiday Helpers, Shrine Burn
Center, Hospice, Community Resource"
Services, Meals
on
Wheels, Avon Lake
Public Library. Clothe-a-Chtld.

other worthy projects.
For the Homecoming festivities, Mrs.
VVm. (Ollie) Roddon
and
Mrs.
Walter
(Elva) Young. Co-chairmen
of
Iho Ways
& Means Department, along with other
members
of

club, made
the
Yo-Yo
Spread which will bo raffled along with
many other beautiful gifts.^
